Rental Terms
These terms govern the rental of Move Over Totes equipment, including 27-gallon and 14-gallon totes, Tote Caddies, hand trucks, and furniture dollies. By selecting a package, you acknowledge and agree to the following conditions.
1. Rental Period
The standard Move Over Totes packages generally include a 14-day rental period, but different rental periods may be agreed to and will be reflected in the customer’s order. Rental periods are reserved in advance and are not prorated, credited, or refunded for early return. If you need more time, extension options and pricing will be provided with your order and are subject to availability.
2. Minimum Order
A minimum rental of 20 totes applies. Additional totes may be added at $3 per tote for the 14-calendar-day rental, subject to availability and arranged before delivery. If the total tote quantity reaches the next standard package size, the applicable package rate will be used instead. Rentals exceeding 60 totes are subject to availability and separate pricing.
3. Delivery & Pickup
Local delivery and pickup are included within our standard service area. Requests outside the standard service area may be available for an additional delivery and/or pickup charge. Rental equipment is delivered to the customer’s designated location and collected at the agreed pickup location.
4. Cleaning & Care
All rental equipment is cleaned and inspected after each rental. Customers should avoid sharp objects, excessive weight, heavy impacts, and any use that could permanently stain, deform, puncture, or contaminate the equipment. Totes may not be used for hazardous materials, chemicals, paint, fuel, food waste, or other substances that could create a safety or sanitation issue. Use equipment only for its intended purpose and within its manufacturer’s rated capacity.
5. Liability & Damage
Customers are responsible for all rental equipment during the rental period. Normal wear and tear is excluded from replacement charges. Lost totes or totes damaged beyond normal wear and tear that require replacement are charged at $15 per tote. A missing or unusable lid requires replacement of the tote and is covered by the same $15 charge; no separate lid charge is added. Other rental equipment requiring replacement because of loss or damage beyond normal wear and tear is charged at 130% of the current cost to replace the same item, rounded up to the next $5 increment. Customers may not substitute personally purchased or third-party replacement equipment without prior approval from Move Over Totes.
6. Reservation & Payment
Submitting an availability request does not create or guarantee a reservation. A rental is only confirmed after Move Over Totes verifies availability and provides confirmation to the customer. Payment terms and any required charges will be communicated as part of the confirmation process.
7. Extensions & Late Returns
Extensions require approval and are subject to availability. Extension charges are based on the original total rental charge for the package and rented accessories. Each completed seven-day extension block costs 30% of that original total. Additional days cost 5% of the original total per day, capped at 30% for each seven-day block. Six and seven additional days both cost 30%; eight days cost 35%. Charges do not compound. Customers should request an extension at least 2 hours before the start of the scheduled pickup window. Requests made after that cutoff will incur a $25 rescheduled-pickup fee in addition to any applicable extension charges. Items not returned on the agreed pickup date without an approved extension are subject to additional charges.
8. Cancellations & Changes
Requests to cancel or change a confirmed rental should be made as soon as possible. Changes to rental dates, tote quantities, delivery, or pickup arrangements are subject to availability. Any applicable cancellation or change charges will be communicated to the customer.
